It took another minute before he could unwrap the diaper, letting out a thankful breath when he found no evidence of needing a change.

Phil watched, tension easing with a chuckle. “Mr. Guest, then.” He mused.

“He was probably distressed from being left alone. He’s doing well around you—” The handler’s gaze ducks down to his phone’s blank screen. A hesitant jaw ticks, a sentence goes unsaid.

Clint continues to move, pacing back and forth in a small line, rubbing at the infant’s back, humming low in his throat, anything to soothe the baby. It works, eventually, the baby quieting to nothing more than little grunts or coos.
He lets out a small sigh, eyes closed as he continues to pace, continues to rub.

They only open again when Phil speaks, and he turns his head to watch the other man, careful to keep his gaze a little lower so that he knows what he’s hearing is actually right.

“Yeah?”

“In the meantime it’d probably be courteous to figure out the right pronouns for your little guest. While you check to see if he or she needs a change.” There’s a small smile. Something like support. “Hunger, however, is probably not something I would doubt. …How long was it out there?”

Lola sure is a nice car... it'd be a shame if something happened to her. >:3

It is not as if I know where you live. You seem to spend most of your time here anyway. -sighs- I was asking because I want to see just how far the fear spreads... It is like a cancer. Some people believe I want to destroy the world. I just want a little peace of mind that as log as I do not do anything stupid people will not come after me.

I was more implying where you were at the moment. The potential people you speak of aren’t entirely absent from this facility. And with good reason.

He pockets the small device and then it’s both hands settled, carefully rubbing the baby’s back with shaking fingers.
He nearly feels like crying when the baby starts to quiet.

“I just found him out there.”

“Of course.” Phil assures him, already dialing. As the phone rings he thinks about saying something but doesn’t. Can’t. Even as good natured as he’d mean it.

He’s stopping. You’re good at this.

Someone picks up on the other and and Phil can’t reply to the archer’s shaken statement. He throws out a 10-20 on a missing child instead, excusing himself to the kitchen to let Clint continue without noise. The quiet affirmations and ‘understoods’ die out, leaning Phil to end his calls with more ideas on what do do next. What to do for Clint and the child. He pushes anything more than that away.

Coulson leaned on the archway, hands in pockets. “We’ll get a call back. In the mean time…”

It was possible. Clint didn’t know everyone in the building, but he had a baby in his arms and that meant that they had left their kid alone in the hall and what kind of parent did that?

“Perhaps…” Fingers brushed over the phone in his pocket, contemplating as much as Phil could to help his asset. “Perhaps contact with the lobby and a call out. I’m sure someone’s looking for him.” He offered softly.
