The agent fell off balance as the other attempted to shake him off, confusion crossing his features. He took a knee steadily, arm outstretched towards the God. Hesitantly, he watched as Loki tried running away, pressing himself against the wall as much as he could. Phil’s brows, too, knitted together.

“Loki,” He said again, softly this time. Slowly, he moved closer to him, hand reaching. His knees brushed up against Loki’s legs as fingertips touched over the God’s cheek gently. “Can you hear me…?”

The crimson that thinly dripped from the tricksters ears proved otherwise. Phil was struck with a pang of hurtful fear. He took his cheek in hand, the other finding his shoulder again.

The prince tightened into a ball, curling into the fetal position on the cold floor at the other’s touch. He didn’t understand who or what was touching him and it frightened him, frightened him that he couldn’t see or hear them. The hand against his cheek was gentle, but he his instinct told him otherwise, told him that he was going to be beaten down further.

A hand against his shoulder.

Loki gave a soft sound, trying to speak, the cord pulling lightly at the brushing flesh, a few thing lines of blood running down his chin and neck. A hand hesitantly reached out, trembling as he attempted to find the other body. His fingers brushed over the agent’s vest, slowly feeling his way around, trying to decipher weather this was a friend or foe.

Phil grasped the prodding hand lightly. He didnt know—How could he—?

It wasn’t often Agent Coulson felt this way. Everything could be handled. Every situation had a protocol, but this… The God could neither see nor hear him. How could he do anything? It was the thought that struck him, that made him rattle with a shaky breath.

I dont know what to do.

Bringing the hand to his face he could only think to let Loki’s slowly fingers brush over his features, something, anything that could give some sort of clue? He took the God’s other hand in his own, also bringing it closer. They both rested on his chest and Phil could feel his own heartbeat betray his cool demeanor with panic.
